Would I buy this for a dollar or two and still enjoy it? Yes, but only for the singleplayer. Get rid of them unless its meant to enhance your gameplay. I think they should have just ditched the collectible thing - honestly, it added nothing to the game. The story had enough twists and attachments to characters to slog through it. I didn't even hate the idea of spending the entire second act of the game in a flashback (where the lazy devs picked a pistol that literally looked the same despite being 20 years apart). I think I would have been more bored of the game if it ran a minute longer than it did (so I definitely didn't play the DLC). Killshots felt tastefully earned - usually on the last enemy of a wave. They also didn't overdo it on the bulletcam, either. I think the reticle and red-circle to account for wind and distance shots was a bit cheap, but still looked cool when they landed it.
However, I found that I wanted to skate by some missions perfectly. If you've played a few FPS, you don't run the risk of getting absolutely wrecked. It's not painstakingly difficult - even if alerted, they need to be alerted again to start firing back at you on Normal. Enemy detection in this game is a joke, and is so much of one that it's actually fun. Having a spotter for the better part of the game is nice. They'll tell you to shoot the right people for a better part of the game, but you can largely shoot whoever you want. And you now know that this wouldn't be a total waste of time to you. People who really got a kick out of that one mission from an almost 15-year-old game.
The game is a low recommend, but if you wanted the "All Ghillied Up" mission from Modern Warfare (2007) for four hours with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dialogue but still an OK story you got this. I liked it more than the first two Sniper Elite, but that's not saying much.
